No bait, no boat....

Finally in the right spot at the right time when bunker and big bass came within casting range of my favorite Spring Lake jetty.

This (30lb?) caught right off the end on a red/white pencil popper. Almost spooled me and gave a great fight on relatively light tackle and LJM custom 8' rod.

Congrats Brandon Cremin!

We went down to Avalon for Brandon Cremin graduation party and had a great time. All cousins accounted for here except David Coskey & Caroline Kostlan.
Avalon sunset & high tide from Campanella's dock. Wow - and I also caught a few blues on poppers at dusk. It doesn't get any better.

We kept the yellow color but made a few other changes to our family room. That's Tom on the right b4 the Senior prom.

Lake Las Vegas

Pics from this weeks Presidents' Conference trip to
Lake Las Vegas Ritz Carlton.

We had 4 nights there and had a great time. The first day it was a record 108 degrees which was a welcome change from the dreary spring we've had.

This is Pat on the bridge which is behind me, the first level there is a huge reception area with spectacular views.

The lake is fed by the Colorado river upstream from Lake Mead, there are huge carp in here along with some largemouth bass and catfish.

more to follow..

Jax Lax

Brad attempts the incredible hands free method to recover the ball while Ryan looks for the holding penalty.

Jax Lax is off to an 8-2 start after losing in triple OT sudden death to Rumson Fair Haven and this one point decision to Toms River North.

JMHS Mens Lax

Brad at LSM (long stick middie) in this morning's scrimmage on the Pop Warner turf field.

It was sunny but about 40* with the wind chill. Call me Francis but we cannot wait till the warmer weather comes.

Looking forward to a great season this year!!

More Maier Meshing

Mike - this might have been near you...
Freshman Mackenzie Maier scored 17 of her 24 career-high points in the second half to lead the High Point University women's basketball team past Charleston Southern, 72-57 on Tuesday night in Big South action.

Maier also pulled down a team high nine rebounds, dished out three assists and recorded three blocked shots for the Panthers (13-14, 5-6 BSC). Jurica Hargraves added 12 points.

Maier Meshes - So Does Pequannock

Handling State & Local Gov accounts allows me to sometimes end my day up north. Pequannock BOE and Township are both customers so I was able to check out a recent PV school game.
Bill - thanks for forwarding this picture and I am sure all our viewers appreciate the hand on top of the ball while pushing it up the court.
Nice handles Cole!!

Slippin' into 2008

Mom & Day - thanks for the new kicks!!
Happy new year to all and Happy Birthday (belated) to Mike & Dor and especially to Tom Sr. (today). The slippers are being used daily as mine seem to be in Brad's room all the time.

We ushered in the new year from home with a good meal and some exciting Boggle action on the couch- wow have times changed.

Do you think A-Rod always wears his Yankee hat on New Years Eve or was that a special PR move last night? If he was actually mingling with the hoi polloi in Times Square crowd as reported than I am playing for the Yanks next year.
