Finally in the right spot at the right time when bunker and big bass came within casting range of my favorite Spring Lake jetty.
This (30lb?) caught right off the end on a red/white pencil popper. Almost spooled me and gave a great fight on relatively light tackle and LJM custom 8' rod.

May I be the first to say "WOW what a BIG fish". You are definitely a chip off the old block - great catch Tom. This should hold for the whole year.
Tom - that is a seriously big fish!! Congratulations!
The whole year?! That should hold/inspire you for a decade! Beautiful fish- it makes all those fruitless trips worthwhile...
Tom - obviously you caught that on the old red-white pencil popper. Mathew can't believe that you almost got spooled! good job!!
Tom -
Just as you told me last week that you believe the Apollo landings were staged, I believe this photo is also a clever fabrication. Come clean, that cant be real.
Jim
Tom,
I don't think either the Apollo landing or this fish catch were staged. Nice one, now go find it's big brother.
